The 10th Annual Great Saskatchewan Mustard Festival!
Yup, it’s our 10th anniversary of celebrating our fave Saskatchewan condiment! It all started with the idea to showcase the great local culinary talent to be found in Regina restaurants and what better way to do it than by showcasing an ingredient that is so truly “Saskatchewan”? This province produces almost 80% of the mustard grown for global export. Clearly mustard is an important crop for Saskatchewan farmers just as it has always been for chef’s world wide.
So we created an event to show guests just how awesome mustard is in the hands of talented local chefs. Holding a festival in the sun in Wascana Park seemed like a good idea too. While we’re at it, how about some terrific live music to bounce along to while tasting what the chefs have to offer? Throw in face painters for the kids and we created one of the most fun & unique summertime events in Regina!
Last year more than 2000 people visited to try out the food, have a beer, and enjoy summer, and this year promises to be just as spectacular! Twenty-two different food-service providers have signed on to strive for the “Yellow Chef’s Coat” won for People’s Choice of the best food. Sunday, August 21st is going to be another great day in Regina!
